Yes fat 32 does work with xp and 2000 and nt and 98. You cant format as fat 32 in xp but you can read and write to it. You can do the same in 2000, not quite sure about nt, but you could always carry pc drivers with you hd and I'm sure that would add the readability. So find a friend with an me or 98 os on it and format that way.
