Jesus, I hate it when people lurk and hardly ever help anyone and when
others do, all they can do is quote selectively for their own ends! How long
have you been a member of this group? What, a whole 2 months?...And you
think that qualifies you to call me intolerant in public?

FYI, I have worked on both platforms. They both have their good points and
bad. I am NOT a Mac fanatic or a Microsoft fanatic. I have diverse opinions
and am open minded. I don't owe allegiance to any company, only to family
and friends. Don't think that by reading a sentence of cold text that you
can know me and call me intolerant before an audience of hundreds.

You say that nothing is cut and dried in life and yet you call me
intolerant. What is more cut and dried than forming a snap opinion of
someone and then publishing it WITHOUT knowing the FIRST thing about them?
Forget knowing their philosophy. I've known people for 10-20 years and I
STILL don't have an opinion about them!

My views about Microsoft and Apple have been coloured over 6-7 years from
practical experience and from reading about the companies in the media. It
is a fact that BOTH Apple and Microsoft are rivals (see the number of court
cases against each other) and that they also work together. Is it any wonder
that users take sides or have biased opinions? I don't find that unusual.

Machines do play a HUGE part in the creative process, even if they do not
produce the goods by themselves. To think otherwise is to not think at all.
Try doing sports photography with a 10x8 around your neck! You will soon
clamour for a well made machine suited to the job.

While an Oscar Peterson can produce wonderful music on a keyboard that has 5
keys missing and another 5 sticking, not everyone has his talent. So, if you
have a good machine, you are already ahead of the competition who do not. I
don't suppose you read Norman Childs' Sunday musings? If you had, you would
agree that machines do matter.

Personally, I like well made things. I have worked on a LOT of PCs as a
tutor/fixer and have NEVER seen one well made. I don't care to work on a
badly made machine unless I am forced to. Your mileage may vary.

You could've fooled me. Don't make it personal if you do have a problem, is
my advice to you...And if other's opinions upset you, DON'T denigrate fellow
members in public. Keep your opinions to yourself or send them to a Listmum
or the owner or better still, write them and then delete them. Like I have
done with this post!

WTF, indeed.

Shangara.
