I'm still on 10.2.7 and have a firewire card reader - exactly the same happens specifically with a 1GB card (Ridata). I'm assured by the dealer that it is not a problem (he said the same happens with his 1GB card.) Like you, everything else is fine( as is my 512GB card which always appears). He said the bug will probably be ironed out with 10.3. (Perhaps we'll have to wait for 10.3.1!!)
