There have recently been discussions on corrupt files similar to the ones you describe - one theory was that of a faulty cable (albeit on a card reader). You don't say whether or not your images are stored on an external FW drive or similar. Are you able to change the cables and check the internal cables are seated properly? (turn off the power <G>) Indeed, are the stripes still appearing? If not it may be tricky to narrow down the problem now if you can't repeat the symptoms.
