You can change the File Info from the Browser File menu, thereby not having
to open a file. If you want to change the Copyright Status on a lot of
files...I think you will have to open them.
Why not just enter your copyright and author info in the Metadata palette?
You can add/modify info for multiple files without opening them. That way,
you give notice of copyright without stating that the image has been
copyrighted... The only difference I can see is if the Status says
Copyrighted, you see the copyright symbol when the file is opened.
I haven't read this anywhere but am "assuming" Adobe are drawing a
distinction between images that have been Copyrighted in the States and
images whose status is Unknown...Otherwise, when you enter copyright info in
the Metadata palette, the status would change to Copyrighted but it
doesn't...would you agree?...
