Is it possible to change the 'Copyright Status' from the default "Unknown"

Yes - but only via an action and or droplet. The way I do it, is to incorporate my 'Generic Copyright' (and sometimes a customized file info file) file info action into a general PS image process droplet. I haven't seen any other way of doing this most important function to images.
