All this is just rumour and conjecture. The various Mac rumour sites are also reporting IBM PowerPc chip developments for production well into 2005. There have also been stories about Apple testing porting OSX to Intel chips. I don't believe that means it will necessarily happen on a commercial level, probably more likely sensibly hedging their bets with dual supplier cpability after the experience of Motorola's inability to sustain development

Yes, They will be using an AMD chip. Don't know whether that chip will be
specifically designed for Apple, or just somewhat customized from something off
the shelf. In any event, that has made me think twice about investing in a G5
since that line seems destined to be a pretty short term item.
