Hi I'm afraid I was never able to get a 1290 attached to an OS X box visible to os9 machines or vice versa. I tried all the usb sharing tricks and it just did nothing. That was using the Epson drivers.
I was able to get printers controlled by an OS X box visible to OS9 (as postscript printers) when using Gimp print drivers, but since this caused a serious hiccup in my colour managed work flow it was good for many things but not for photos. This is one of my reasons for my question the other day about the new version of the Gimp print drivers.
