I bought a Sigma lens last year trying to avoid buying more Nikon lenses (I had to buy a bunch of new lenses because the Fuji cameras wouldn't take non-AF lenses) and while the Sigma was really sharp, it had bad flare problems if there was a light source (or bright white background) in the photo.
