Deae Mike, I am very happy with my minolta dimage scan elite 5400 and it gives nice 118mb files at 5400dpi. Though I know of few people on this who have had problems.
Try the Nikon range they have two new ones out both 4000dpi. The lower Nikon and the elite are about �500 range the higher Nikon is about �1000.
