Rick,

I specialise in architectural photography.  Let me use an example of a shot
of a house.  Taking a RAW file and converting using Fuji EX 2.0 and PS CS,
both without any sharpening (I do that at the end), 16-bit TIFF file, and
viewing at 100%, the difference is noticeable when looking at, say, the
lattice work in a window.  The Fuji image is crisper and has more bite to
it.  It therefore needs less USM with its inherent artefacts later.

I'm out all day today but tomorrow I'll see if I can generate a couple of
JPEGs that I can send you.
