Is anyone using the S2 in tethered mode on location? .....Is the Fuji Hyperlink software the only option for this?
Nope. We use i-View MediaPro, making the folder we shoot into a hot folder. You can have pictures come up as a contact sheet or a a full screen image. Since it displays the jpeg preview they're pretty good to look at aswell.
We then use the Adobe Raw plugin in PS7 (I guess if you use CS it's the same) to process and export the pictures. I found Hyperlink clunky and unmanageable, whereas this is a more elegant solution.
Related to this, what success have you had in having S2 files written onto tranny film? Have clients >accepted them, knowingly or not, and has repro proved wholly satisfactory?
I haven't had to give a client a non digital file for very many years. When we were forced to do so, they seemed more than happy to scan a high quality print.
