Apologies if my statement about waiting for rebates by check confused this issue any further. (As if it needed more confusion!) Last fall, when I bought my 14n, the rebate program was marketed directly to the potential buyer by Kodak. I received a mailing that said essentially, "buy a 14n at whatever dealer you choose, get your best price, then send in the attached coupon with proofs of purchase and we'll send you a check for $250." The dealer was not involved at all. I assumed the process was still similar.
--------------- > as opposed to 2700...it's worth a pause and the wait can't be that bad > since 14n users have been waiting for a year or so for an upgrade... Actually, I think a lot of us bought ours when the price point of the camera vs. what we could do with it, within its limitations, made economic sense to us. (Especially if we had a lot of Nikon lenses already.) I had zero expectations of ever being able to upgrade the camera. The fact that this will be possible is unexpected and just icing on the cake. If and when I do upgrade my 14n, my total outlay will be about equal to the price of a new SLRn for a camera that will be slightly less. But then I'll have had the use of it for 6 months already, so you have to balance that all out. --------------- Jay Busse Photo Illustrators =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
