Hello List,

My name is Peter Birch and I am a Birmingham based photographer working
for advertising and design clients.
For the last four years I have been shooting 100% digitally with my
Sinarback 23, on a Sinar P2 and Sinarcam 2.
Which brings me to my conundrum.....

Having run my camera on a 400 MHz G4 since day one, I decided to upgrade
to a 1.25 GHz Dual Boot G4.
However after two days of trying, I cannot get the Mac to see the
Camera, which from bitter experience I know is almost certainly the
Keyspan Serial Port/USB adapter that connects to the Sinarcams power
supply.

I am running the latest version of Captureshop and have downloaded the
latest drivers from the Keyspan site for both OS X and OS9
but neither will work. I have done a complete OS reinstall before
installation of each version of the Keyspan drivers to avoid any
potential conflicts when I boot into each OS and I have also tried
different configurations of USB sockets etc., but no joy.
On the very rare occasions the camera has started up the Mac has crashed
almost immediately.
Eventually, with a job looming, I gave up and put my old Mac back in,
which works perfectly!
The phrase 'if it aint broke don't fix it' springs to mind!

Anyway I was hoping that perhaps there is someone out there using a
Sinarback with a newer G4 who has encountered and solved this issue
or failing that, anyone who's got a USB power supply for sale?

Thanks in advance,

Peter Birch
