Hi Simon,

I use NEC / Mistsubishi 1880SX screens which I love, but for some
applications the 1280*1024 resolution really isn't enough. Of course, some
people would run two screens off a dual feed graphics card, but my main
workstation for graphics and e.g. website development is fed through an
AdderView GEM box so that we can run three machines to one screen / keyboard
/ mouse etc. It wouldn't be impossible to run two screens through two KVM
switches, but too complicated for my head at this time.

I'm looking for a 20" LCD, and am considering the NEC LCD2080UX to get
1600*1200 resolution. These monitors come with DVI and analogue VGA
connectors by the way, and also have (on Windows anyway - not sure about
Mac) software that allows you to rotate the screen mid-session to portrait
orientation if you want to.

The only problems with the NEC's is that they are ISO13406-Class 2 displays
and I would prefer to pay a bit extra for a guaranteed Class 1 screen. Also
had problems with every single 'first delivery' screen - though it is
unclear if this was down to poor quality control at NEC, or poor carriers
throwing the screens around :(

I'll be interested in your responses too - though there were some recent
comments on the list about DVIator cards that would allow PC users like me
to use Mac Cinema displays which are tempting to me ;)

I hope this helps,
Nij
