David, there are some high pass filter and extreme USM settings and or
equalize and or other methods to help see what 'flaws' an image contains in
Photoshop, as well as looking at individual channels in the source space and
or LAB AB channels .


I would echo Matt's reply that the problems he described in his original post, and the similar problems I have, don't need enhancing or searching for, they are all too apparent in some shots.
