Other qualities are perhaps harder to compare as the Kodak file is over 1MB
smaller than the 1Ds file. Which could suggest a higher amount of jpeg
artifacts.
or a smoother file (less noise) so it compresses more efficiently at the same setting. (wishful thinking from a 14n owner who's already signed up for the upgrade)
