Good point Jorge. I was out doing an interiors shoot on location shoot
recently with the client in attendance. Before the shoot he was questioning
the fee, and I told him how much all the equipment that I would be using
actually cost. (This was a non digital, medium format shoot, with both flash
and tungsten lighting required.)
At the end of the shoot, he admitted that he had never realised how much
effort when into each shot, and coupled with the investment in equipment,
told me that I was extremely good value.

To say that was nice to hear would be a huge understatement.

We are all expected to carry our own insurance, which is fair enough.
However, I do think you are very wise to stipulate clients pay for insurance
for the huge investment in high end digital backs and associated equipment
if they require this on location.
It really does bring the message home to them!
