Is anyone having problems with their 15" G4 Powerbook screens ?
I'm using a 17inch and have not noticed the problem you describe but then I've never counted on a PowerBook screen to be very accurate and don't judge it critically at all. Viewing angle causes a greater difference than any falloff so I've just never worried about it. I've had several Powerbooks going back to the 2400c model. I've never had a bad pixel on any of them (one screen that died completely... but not a single bad pixel).
And a question for 23" Apple Cinema Screen users - Is the colour of illumination exactly the same across your screen
I use a 20 inch Cinema and it has a very slight but definitely noticeable shift to magenta along the left edge... maybe three inches worth. It's most noticeable if I drag a white window from one side of the screen to the other. You see it change colors slightly as it moves to the left edge. The color shift is only noticeable on light tones. I've not been able to reproduce this on other Cinema displays I've tried. I also have a 17 inch studio display and it does not show the problem. The "problem" is so slight that I don't really worry about it. I'm afraid that if I sent it in it might come back with some other problem that I dislike more. And I love this screen so much that I don't want to be without it long enough to send it in!
Both my PowerBook and Cinema display are hardware calibrated using an EyeOne spectro and BasICColor software.
