If you
don't have a SCSI port in your computer the scanners won't work. If by some
stroke of luck there is a SCSI port you will have to load the appropriate
drivers for the scanner following the directions for the scanner. Then
after that's done shut down the pc, hook up the scanner and turn it on then turn
on the pc.

can't help you with the G4 but I have an SS4000 hooked up to my
