Has anyone got any experience of the Somerset Enhanced Satin\Velvet paper?
Or any other recommendations?

Dear Paul

Can''t speak for satin.

I used to use Somerset Velvet enhanced & was very happy with the results (1290 OEM inks etc).
Then I bought a 2100 put in a CIS using Fotonics & had profiles made by our own Mr Neil B for both papers.

The difference between the 2 papers is astounding. The inks sit much better on the Lyson. It's not a textured paper and the colours have a lot more vibrancy They also match up to the calibrated monitor etc. etc. which is always a good idea.
Also, Neil very kindly sent me a 3d mesh plot thing (for lack of a better description) showing the gamuts of the 2 papers

Quote from his attachment:-
'the profile plot in this folder has the 2 profiles overlaid in 3D CIE Lab space. The wireframe is the Smooth Art, the solid the Somerset - Smooth Art is plainly a larger gamut and also has a darker black too.

nice to know'.

Hope this helps. I'm sure others on the list will have more/differing opinions

Regards
David Preutz

(I can send you the 3d plot if you would like to see it - off list)
