I don’t enjoy telling derogatory tales about myself but here is one. I bought a little digital notebook camera from a site on e bay. The sellers appeared as if they were in the U.K. but the camera was imported from Hong Kong. The price was very attractive and greed overtook caution. There was a substantial charge for packing and postage. After a fairly long delay the camera arrived in an envelope, the camera box covered with a suggestion of bubble wrap; but with a huge import charge plus a parcel post handling charge. It turned out that it would have been cheaper to buy off the shelf from John Lewis here in London. These extra charges are not mentioned on the advertisement on e- bay. I read from time to time of members importing equipment from abroad; but in my case, never again. Furthermore it serves me right.
