David

I have noticed a similar matching problem when viewing something in
Photoshop CS and in Classic at the same time. I'm 99.9% this was not the
case when I was running Jaguar. But memory being wh....

If I create a file that contains R=128, convert it to sRGB and then view it
in a non-color managed app in Classic, the values still read as R=128 in
Photoshop CS but it looks darker than the version displayed by Classic.
Also, the DigitalColor Meter reads the file in Photoshop as R=109 but the
Classic file as R=128. I can't put my finger on the problem. It looks as if
one OS is displaying the image in 1.8 gamma and the other in 2.2 gamma.

FWIW, ColorSync in Classic is using the generic profiles and OS X is using
my monitor profile (I thought OS X would somehow control the display for
both OS's but...). You can see sections of the image viewed in OS X and
Classic here: http://www.photoshopace.com/osx_classic.html

Can anyone throw some light on it?...
