focus & not for colour reasons then?
Yes, I think that's correct.
But your workflow involves the
camera (linear) pola only seeing already (linear) polarised light - would
that not be different from a camera linear pola seeing unpolarised light?
Yes and I assume that's why the circular polarizer creates weird effects in this circumstance. The overall color changes fairly drastically as I rotate the filter.
