I have recently discovered that far better images will be obtained from 8 bit jpgs if they are manipulated in 16 bit and then, if necessary, dropped back to 8 bit for printing.
Sounds stupid, but it really does make a significant difference! Does anyone know of any way to configure PS CS so that any 8 bit file is automatically converted to 16 bit as it is opened?
