Dear Crissi. So far your choices are in the right direction, but I will
strongly invite you to check the battery operation of both units and take
good care to also get whatever accesories those devices may have to support
prolonged use and recharging.

This comment comes from he fact that both the FlashTrax and the Image Tank
have been highly praised by many , with the exception of battery life.
As the device runs a small color LCD screen for previeweing images, battery
consumption is huge.,

Also make sure to get the fastest ( Firewire if possible) connectivity.

I have just received (as part of a trade) a SuperDigiBin with 20 Gigs of
storage. THis unit does not have color screen ( which I consider a smart
energy saving strategy) and it comes with the AC adaptor and the cigarrete
lighter adaptor for on location recharging.

However, the USB connectivity is basically a fraud in terms of download
times.

Version 2.0 of the DigiBin now comes with USB 2.0 and claims to be faster
than the staandard USB and I intend to do the upgrade, because this device
is SLOOOWW.

The data transfer between a plugged CF card and the DigiBin is normal, not
to say fast, so it just takes just a few minutes to transfer one 1 Gb CFCard
to the Bin, but the same 1Gb Data may take more than 30 minutes to download
from the DigBin to a computer via USB.
I am only using it as a redundant Back up and so far( and luckily) I have
not had the need to use the data recorded there.
I will run to upgrade to USB 2 ASAP.

Regards
