Hi I'd second that. I'm finally heading back from a month in the US, with a Powerbook stuffed full of pictures. It has enabled me to maintain contact while on the road, burn CDs to post back home and play the odd game of Quake :-) I looked at getting some form of storage device, but decided that for general use the laptop would win out. Having now spent a length of time with a 1Ds, lenses, laptop, chargers, batteries and several spindles of blank CDs.
