If it helps, I regularly write DVD's with a mix of Kodak raw files and
jpg's (on a G4 laptop with a 1x superdrive) with no unusual verifying
speed problems. That said, it is a darn slow process. I tend to prepare
a dvd during the day and burn it overnight.
