Dear All

Brief introduction as its been a while since I posted anything.

Graeme Cooper, fashion and advertising photographer, Manchester.
I've been digital for just over 2 years now, primarily Phase One H101 on a
Hasselblad 645, occasional D60 Canon when out and about. Did a lot of hiring
and research before taking the plunge.
Fairly confident now, after the steep learning cliff, that I seem to be
doing most things right :o)

I've been out this glorious bank holiday afternoon to a local concert in a
park where Courtney Pine, jazz saxophonist was playing. Took a few snaps for
myself on the D60 and for the first time in 2 years of trouble free use,
I've come back with a dreaded question mark 'corrupt data' flashing on the
back of the Canon.
All was fine when I reviewed them at the concert.
Tried to download them to laptop on my return home to find they won't
transfer from the microdrive. I've tried loading them into both the Canon
software and Phase One's Capture software v3.1.1 to no avail.

Does anyone know of a data retrieval company in the North West of England?

Or....can anyone suggest any other work around; ie can one run something
like Norton across the Microdrive or would that be stupid?

The data is on an IBM Microdrive CF II and I'm on a Mac running OS 10.2.8
and a Mac running Panther.

The Microdrives have been in use now for a good year and a half with a total
of about 15000 captures having been committed to them both.
While I'm on, do these things have a life expectancy?

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Just glad it didn't happen on a job, but then again I would have backed up
immediately - was a bit of a busman's holiday today so I thought it could
wait til I got home - so there's a lesson for us all :o)

Best wishes

Graeme C
