I had this problem recently but with the Yellow ink. The solution offered by Jon Read at Marrutt seems to be to saturate a thin strip of cloth (like a tea towel) 1.5cm by 6cm with Clear Windowlene.

Press the change inks button and as the head begins to move pull the mains lead out. The head will now move freely.

Place the strip of cloth on the track where the print head runs and carefully pull the print head over the cloth. Move it back and forth a bit then leave it overnight.

Run a cleaning cycle in the morning (having removed the cloth!) and try to get a good nozzle check.

Hopefully that will sort the problem.

It seems to be caused by ink drying up on the nozzles - either lack of use or not turning printer on and off as much.

Good Luck

Richard
