Dear All, I need a lens for my D100. I already own the 28-105D (not DX) Nikon and 17-35 (not DX)Sigma lenses. Has anyone had a chance to assess the new 18-70 Nikon and/or the 17-55 Nikon. The 18-70 is tempting as a 'standard' zoom and there have been some good write ups on the lens. It's major plus for me is the price - 299 - whereas the 17-55 is 1100.
Or, as I would really like a good wide-angle for digital, should I go for the Nikon 12-24? I cannot afford two lenses at the moment, and know that the lens I SHOULD buy is the 12-24, but not having a 'standard' zoom is frustrating. The lens I like most on my F100 is the 24 f2.8 prime and wish I could get the same 'length' for the digital. Any advice, but especially comments about optical quality on these lenses, would be most welcome.
