I understand the situation in the US and Far East/Oz is better. If you've got any contacts out there, or know someone travelling overseas, this may be your best bet.
Have you tried Adorama in the US?
I bought a brand new Micro Nikkor from them, and even with import duty & UPS etc., it was �100.00 cheaper than the best UK prices!
