Hi all...

I have just started to encounter some nasty profile corruption problems on
my PC running XP Pro. Capture One 3.5 was loaded on Thursday since which I
have processed thirty plus files from the Canon 1Ds and worked on them
without a problem.

I returned to one image which had already been opened and used successfully.
Clicking on the thumbnail in PS7 browser the image (a chocolate flake shot
on a white background) turned almost black with green shadow. Opening the
file I was informed of a profile mis-match from Adobe 1998 to Adobe 1998!
Agree to convert and a hideous posterised mess appears. Re-open without
converting and a different but similar posterised mess is the result. Open
discarding the profile and the image appears fine. Four files now show this
problem but only two have corrupt previews in the PS browser. There is no
banding or break up of the image. The basic shape is there but severely
posterised.

I have re-processed the same four RAW files from the card using C1 three
times. The first set open fine into PS but show the same corruption after
saving and re-opening unless the profile is ditched. The second the third
samples are fine so far. All images show no problems when processed in the
Canon Image Browser. If the image is opened discarding the profile and then
saved as Adobe 1998 all is fine and the thumbnail in PS browser returns to
normal. What seems to be happening is a random corruption of the profile
embedded by C1 but not necessarily straight away and it seems to be confined
to the PC.

If anyone has encountered this their comments would be most welcome.

Regards
