I have two D1xs and have shot around 80,000 frames on them over the last couple of years with no focussing problems at all.


That said, and with no D2x in sight, it is clear that digital technology has moved on enormously over that time and we are now looking seriously at the Kodak DCS SLR/n which, by all accounts, is a superb camera for photographing people.
It is said to bring the DSLR up to the standard of medium format!


Might be worth checking out.
There is a good analysis of the Canon version on dpreview (www.dpreview.com) whilst the full manual and the associated Photodesk software are both available for free download on the Kodak site.
