I had major problems with loss of whole drive icons, repeatedly when I used two Lacie 400s as a mirrored array.
I have now separated the drives and use ChronoSync to back up one disc to the other which, TOUCH WOOD, hasn't caused any problems so far. I gather that the Lacie Big Discs are allready software raided so your RAD is going to cause even more problems. I used Disc Warrior to re-access the discs which saved my bacon!
