Richard & Shangara,
I can see both sides of the case for shooting a lot of pictures. When I shot
weddings on film I got better and better at only pressing the shutter if I
thought the shot was perfect and achieved a very high 'great shot' ratio.
The thing is, as most of my shots are reportage I have to catch the moment
as it happens and digital just gives me that safeguard to get it in case
someone blinks etc. I also take much more contextual shots now like the kids
playing with the confetti which parents love and this has all been made
easier by not having to worry about changing rolls and the expense. Almost
every shot I take is different in spite of taking 500+ and because I sell my
photos on the web, all the guests go online and order the photos they are in
etc.

Anyway as for taking 10 shots of the same thing to get 1 good one, I agree
that's just hit and hope.

Subject: [PRODIG] Do Fee for service ...Now loads of pictures with digital.

...I too am horrified at the huge numbers of pictures
some people seem to shoot. OK there may be instances where you do need
to shoot across some action to get the best combination....certain
fashion shoots, motor racing etc...

Cheers

Richard
