[PRODIG] Imacon 848 swallowed my 5x4!

Er any suggestions please.
I have a student who (allegedly) put a 5x4" sheet in, as normal, and watched it pull the film into the slot, as normal, film holder and film then fell down back of scanner, not normal...
We have just installed this so I'm not very keen on stuffin my hand in the slot and wigglin it about. Any suggestion from more experienced Imacon users? Please. I'm still waiting for a reply from Imacon.
