Ivan, Hi! This happens when your student puts in a 5x4 carrier and then scans it as an A4!! This is very annoying but happens to most Imacon scanner users at some point... The A4 option being the one below the 5x4 option!! I'm afraid you'll have to take the bottom off the scanner. On the Pii there are 4 screws which allow you access to the bottom of the scanner. I imagine the 848 is similar. I thought that the 848 had auto film holder recognition which would imply that this procedure should not be possible. Anyway, hope that helps.
