I've just fitted an extra 512MB RAM to my laptop (Acer 1711SCi Win XP) Right clicking 'My Computer'/Properties on the desktop says: 0.98GB of RAM Photoshop says I have 917MB RAM available but ............... System Information reports only 512MB ! My question is: is it really there and working or has the system not recognised it properly? Is there any test I can do to prove it's operating?
With some BIOSes, you need to hit the F2/Del key on bootup and reset the Memory Amount in the BIOS settings, then reboot.
