Hi

I too have the 2100 but converted to Lyson CIS, and it works well. The only
problems I have had have been with the printer which has failed a couple of
times and has been replaced under warranty. One of the replacements was also
faulty!! But otherwise it works a treat.

With smearing on paper, there is a solution which involves raising the rollers,
both Marrutt and MWords recommend this (esp with Lyson CIS) and this enables
you to print on all sorts of media.

If you go for the CIS you will need a profile which you can get done from Tony
Riley (Surrey), Neil Bairstow, MWords and a few others.

regards

Richard
