List, I need to buy a printer for making B+W and colour art prints to sell to the public. Have been looking at Epson 1290 and 2100 also Cannon i9100 or if justifiable the i9950.
First choice was the 1290 and use with Lyson ink but I was pointed towards the 2100 and Epson(chromawhateveritis) inks by salesbod. After a search on the prodig archive I am lead to believe that the 2100 performs poorly on Gloss/Satin paper with bronzing of the blacks and also does not print rich blacks on matte paper - Worrying. If possible I don't want any bronzing whatsoever. Is this achievable with any of these printers. Interested if anyone has used both these printers and which archival ink and paper combinations produce the best results. Somebody said that the i9100 knocked spots of the 2100. Any opinions? Haven't heard any reports on the i9950 but the sales pitch looks good. Is it worth the money.
