Mike - this sounds horribly long. I happened to have 378Mb of images on a 512Mb 40x Lexar compact flash card and I just did an experiment transferring it to my 500Mhz G4 Powerbook via the pcmcia slot - 4 mins 5 secs. This is in fact how I normally work on location. Something not right somewhere for you. ----------------------- Best, Francis Newman Webshot Ltd, UK On 29 Aug 2004, at 23:16, Mike Russell wrote: > > > Bit of an amateur question here as it's not my area of expertise, but > I've recently started shooting for fun a lot on a dSLR, downloading to > a Powerbook G4 (not tethered). > > I do this via the PCMIA slot with a Microdrive (or 512mB cards) but > it takes about 6-8 minutes to transfer 1mB.
