I've been using my Lexar FW card reader very happily with my Sandisk Ultra and Fuji CF cards, plus of course my Lexar CF cards for ever. No problems at all and very fast with my G4 dual 867 desktop.

Just threw my Lexar FW in the bin along with my Lexar USB readers. They only work with Lexar CF cards. Useless with anything else.
