Just out of interest I e-mailed tech support at 3H Digital to ask 
whether the PD6F supported Macs running OS X. Just received the 
following reply:

Dear Clive Bubley,
    Sorry for delay reply.
    The PD6F can't support Mac OS X.
    But the PD7X will support Mac OS X.
