I've never really worried with metadata before. Now I have a very nice image database for presenting web based proofs to my clients that can be searched by keyword... ImageFolio... so I'm trying to figure this out and going nuts in the process. I'm using OS-X versions of iView Media Pro 2.5 and Photoshop CS. If I add a keyword in Photoshop via File info, it shows in iView and in ImageFolio. If I add a keyword to that file in iView, it shows in Photoshop's file info and ImageFolio. However if the file has no keywords to start with and I add them in iView (and properly Sync Annotations), the resulting files show no keywords in Photoshop or ImageFolio. I would love to be able to add keywords in iView as it's interface is by far the most convenient of my options.... but how the heck to I get them to be recognized elsewhere. I use iView rarely so maybe I'm missing some obvious setting.

btw you can examine ImageFolio at http://www.bizdesign.com I plan to eventually run the e-commerce version. I just put the "Pro" version with several ad-ons onto my OS-X server this past weekend. Working very well so far. Its an amazingly simple and powerful piece of software. I had one minor issue with an email function. I gave bizdesign log-in info for my server. They got in and rummaged through the thing and had it sorted in no time. The whole transaction happened via a few emails over a couple of hours. So far I'm very impressed.

Thanks
