I purchased a set of four Alien Bees some months ago to use on location and for portrait work on location. Have been using them with my Nikon D1X and I have to tell you I just love them. I was amazed by the amount of light they put out and how easy they are to slave and control. Even purchased the remote triggering system that allows us to set power levels on each light from the camera. Have not gone the battery route yet. I am thinking of purchasing another four lights to use when doing interior architecture stuff.
