When I imported around �4000 worth of Kodak body and Nikon lenses earlier this year I paid just �35 import duty All done for my by the carrier UPS using an American Express Card The 3 year warranties I purchased as extras and are indeed return to the USA but with the current carriers systems I don't see that as a problem.
