Yes indeed, its the same here in Ireland, the criteria being a digital 'STILLS' camera, not a digital camcorder. You will be given a tariff number for this import type with a zero duty levy, which must be displayed on the packaging. I did it last year and saved quite a lot of money, €14,000 to be exact !!! yes fourteen thousand ! All I had to pay was the VAT on entry, happy camper was I.

BTW if you also purchase lenses and any accessories and ship them together you will probably not have to pay any duty on them either as they would also be for digital still usage, just make sure its in the one package.
