Quite so. I have yet to find a camera which can tell its user what to point it at, make what it's pointing at worth pointing it at in the first place, and exactly when to press the shutter. I don't see this situation changing in the near future. On the other hand, the D70 has easily the best built-in meter I've ever encountered. Nothing wrong with that.
