Just had my 'C' drive pack up, only 2 years old, luckily it was backed up with a 'Ghost' image.
Anyway, I wonder if someone could kindly advise me on the selection of a replacement.
I'm thinking of the fast Seagate Cheetah 15K Ultra 320 SCSI but I'm not sure what the 'Ultra 320' bit means.
The failed drive was a Seagate Barracuda 7200 Ultra SCSI Wide as is my scratch disk.
Will the new drive be compatible or does it need a different/newer type of SCSI board/controller and will I get the speed advantage?
My system is: SGI 330 workstation/W2K/Dual P3's/1Gb RAM.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
NeilC
